Beschreibung
Die breite Panoramaaufnahme zeigt eng stehende, rötlich-braune Canyonwände mit hohen Felsformationen, tiefen Spalten und starkem Licht-Schatten-Kontrast. Das Bild entstand im Herbst am Gunnison Point am Südrand des Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado.
Geschichte
Das Bild zeigt nahezu ausschließlich senkrechte, rötlich-braune Felsflächen, schmale Schluchten, kantige Vorsprünge und markante Felssäulen. Seitliches Sonnenlicht hebt einzelne Gesteinsflächen hervor, während tiefe Schatten die Spalten betonen; kleine Vegetationsflächen liegen in den Rissen. Die Aufnahme entstand am 2. Oktober 2010 am Aussichtspunkt Gunnison Point nahe dem Oak Flat Loop Trail am Südrand in Colorado.
