Story
Captured on 10 October 2012, the image combines a warm red-orange sandstone formation with a smaller secondary opening, rocky sandy ground and sparse green vegetation. Strong directional sunlight brings out horizontal bands, weathering and erosion in the rock, while shadowed recesses add depth. The distant landscape is visible through the main arch beneath a mostly clear blue sky.
