Recorded on October 5, 2010, the photograph shows the Colorado Plateau canyon country in autumn from an elevated rocky rim. Red and brown canyon walls, flat-topped mesas, sandstone slabs, shrubs and grasses extend toward the river below, while bright daylight and a few small clouds open the composition toward the blue sky.
