A broad glacier descends from a rugged, snow-covered mountain ridge in the high Alpine terrain of Hohtälli on the Gornergrat ridge near Zermatt. Warm sunlight reaches parts of the upper rock faces and snowfields, while the lower glacier remains in cool blue shadow. The panorama was photographed in summer at approximately 3,110 metres.
